Lantel works with Charity for new office layout!!

On Monday 12th December 2016, Lantel began works for a well respected charity company for the refurbishment of their London based office. The works included a total strip out of all existing data and brand new installation of new Cat6 data across both the ground and first floors. In addition to the data telecoms, Lantel was also asked to install a brand new CCTV system (as they did not have one before), and a brand new Video Door Entry & Access Control System throughout the whole building, comprising of two tenants including the second floor.

Cabling -

There was a total number of 148 new Cat6 data installed across the ground and first floors. These account for data at desk positions, printers, television screens, AV units, WIFI (AP) and CCTV cameras. A total number of 4 APs were installed on the job, two on the ground floor and two on the first floor. A total number of three CCTV cameras were installed on the job, two on the ground and one on the first floor. The AP units were installed in open areas and corridors allowing the signal to transmit in a well covered area without any inference. The CCTV cameras were installed at high level and facing any means of entrances into the office for security purposes.

Comms Cabinet-

In addition to these cabling services, Lantel was also asked to supply and install a brand new Selentium 24U comms rack for the client. With this, it included making the switch from the existing cabinet to the new one. Transferring all the existing switches, UPS units and cabling patch panels across to the new panel. Arranging it into a convenient order within the cabinet, dismantling the old cabinet and disregarding anything that was pre-existing and no longer needed. Being that the cab was in the middle of the open area office on the ground, the Selentium noise reduction acoustic cabinet was ideal for the clients situation.

Desk Power Services -

The client had also requested that we supply and install brand new desk power services. With this we supplied 6 way Intersoc power strips for each desk, both 3m and 5m in length. These were installed to every desk in the tray containment underneath and were plugged into the power sockets at the wall. For the desk top power, we supplied Electrak power units which consisted of 2 way individually fused power and 2 way USB rapid charging sockets. These were fitted onto the table by a clamp system or where by the clamps were not suitable, these were stuck down using strong adhesive tabs.

Video Door Entry & Access Control -

A brand new Video Door Entry & Access Control system was installed within the whole building, this included the ground, first and second floors, the second floor being tenanted by a different client. A brand new front panel was installed on the face of the building replacing the old dated system, this was replaced by a Came BPT Perla system. Three video monitors were installed in the building, one on the reception on the ground floor, one on the first floor and one on the reception of the second floor. These were patched into a local data outlet at desk which run back to the comms cabinet on the ground floor and would then work across the cable linking back to the entry panel at the front door.

The Access Control was installed to every entrance door within the building. This included the front main entrance door, two on the ground floor, one on the first floor and one on the second floor. To every door, a proximity reader, a request to exit button and a break glass panel was installed.

A mini trunking system was installed for the Access Control system in a storage cupboard. This was made up of 2x2 galvanised trunking for containment of all the access control cabling.
